Sound too good to be true, right?! It`s like science heard our prayers and gave us the best possible answer. 🙂 We have all heard that a glass of red wine after dinner is “healthy” but I guess we never understood the actual meaning.
A recent study researching the positive health benefits of resveratrol (a compound found in red wine) your body will receive some of the benefits equivalent to an hour spent in the gym, without the sweats of course.
As we said Canada`s University of Alberta did a research in which the compound found in red wine might boost your heart rate and improve muscle performance. The lead researcher Jason Dyck, stated that this discovery can be very helpful for all people who just can`t find the time or motivation to storm the gym. He also stated that resveratrol could help people who want to work out but for some medical reasons they just can`t. This compound can mimic exercising so the body will feel the benefits.
If drinking wine is not your thing than you`ll be glad to know that resveratrol can be found in certain nuts or fruits like grapes and pistachios.
And for the end there are two things you should look out for, this only applies to red wine and not to a $11 Pinot Grigio and make sure you don`t get stuck “working out” all day long because wine still counts towards your alcohol intake. 🙂
